Economics: Wall Mountain Company - Gas Tungsten Arc Welding Pipe and Tubing -

The gas tungsten arc welding course is designed to enable the trainee to safely set-up and operate manual gas tungsten (Tig or Heliarc) arc welding equipment. Emphasis will be placed on selecting the type of welding current and electrode selection necessary to successfully weld carbon and low alloy steel, aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and copper alloys. (Approximately 10% of the training will be classroom instruction and 90% will be hands on welding practice).

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
To select the proper type of welding current, and consumables for the type of metal to be welded. Produce acceptable quality welds in all positions.
1. Set up equipment for welding.
2. Select proper filler metals.
3. Qualify a test weld in ac-corance with a national code, or specification.
